I totally understand the part of feeling frustrated with, romfan books especially, being only about the smut and having no deeper meaning. I’m currently writing a romfan with a bit a smut, but it’s meant to be a book that shows how expectations and pressure overwhelm and kill a persons self worth, as well as relationships aren’t only about wholesome topic and sometimes the rough arguments are what help you and your partner grow. I personally love all genre of books but I especially love ones with a deeper meaning even if it’s fun and games. I don’t plan on publishing but if I ever do I hope my book doesn’t get buried under the aspects of it that are overwhelming the book market.

Honestly, Ghostcide is just going to feed into my supernatural/ ghost (Dead boy detectives) hyperfixation. I also get your point of wanting to write a book with meaning, I'd hate it if someone only wants to know if your book has spice in it. Like ''I spend so much time on writing it are you really going to ask if it has spice in it?!''. So excited to read Ghostcide one day.

I really love the visual of my characters being paused and stuck in time- because that actually really makes me want to help the go continue their story. Especially since one of my characters right now in my book is really emotionally vulnerable and sad- it makes me want to go and help him by writing. Thank you so much for this video Ana!!😁

Please, please be careful what companies you partner with. Spines is undercutting actual human beings and relying on AI for every facet of the publishing process in order to make it "faster." Publishing a book SHOULD take time. You are perfecting your craft and making your book the very best it can be for your readers. Spines is an incredibly sketchy company and I was very surprised to see you partnering with them. The fact that they're sponsoring writers on authortube is in and of itself very alarming. Whether or not to use AI as part of your writing and publishing process is a deeply personal decision and it should not be taken lightly. For the prices they charge, you could easily hire a team of real humans to do the cover design, editing, and formatting. Please be careful if you plan to partner with them for Ghostcide. And even if you aren't using them for your novel, please reconsider promoting this company to your audience.

I made a book but it has 3 chapters still working on it.... So here it is! *The Mishap Magic of Willow Whisper* Willow Whisper wasn't your typical twelve-year-old. Unlike her friends who obsessed over pop stars and fashion, Willow was fascinated by bubbling concoctions and cryptic chants. Her room wasn't decorated with posters; it was overflowing with peculiar potions and peculiar plants. Willow wasn't just fascinated by magic, she possessed it. Her magic wasn't grand or flashy. It sputtered and sparked, often with unpredictable results. One day, while attempting a simple growth spell on her pet pea plant, she accidentally conjured a grumpy pumpkin three times its size. Another time, a levitation spell meant for her feather quill sent her entire room soaring into the air. Despite the mishaps, Willow was determined to hone her craft. She devoured dusty spellbooks in her attic, her brow furrowed in concentration. She practiced whispering incantations under her breath, her heart pounding with anticipation. And when failure inevitably struck, she simply dusted herself off and started anew. One crisp autumn afternoon, while rummaging through her attic, Willow stumbled upon a peculiar leather-bound book titled "Whispering Wonders." Its pages crackled with age, filled with spells unlike any she'd seen before. Intrigued, Willow embarked on a journey to decipher the cryptic instructions, her mismatched magic the only key she possessed. Chapter 2: The Whisper of Wonder Sunlight slanted through the attic window, illuminating motes of dust dancing in the air. Willow perched on a creaky trunk, her brow furrowed in concentration as she studied the worn inscription on the cover of "Whispering Wonders." "Speak not the words," it warned, "until the moon unveils its gown of silver." Intrigued, Willow flipped open the book, its pages filled with swirling script and illustrations of fantastical creatures. Unlike the dusty spellbooks she'd devoured before, this one pulsed with a strange energy, whispering secrets only she could hear. Determined to unlock its mysteries, Willow decided to wait until nightfall. She spent the rest of the day gathering the ingredients listed for the first spell: a moonstone, a pinch of spiderweb, and a teardrop caught under a full moon. As twilight painted the sky in hues of orange and purple, Willow climbed back into the attic. The moon, a crescent sliver at first, gradually emerged from behind the clouds, bathing the room in an ethereal glow. With a pounding heart, Willow carefully placed the ingredients on an ancient silver platter and began to chant the whispered words from the book. The air crackled with energy. The moonstone pulsed with a soft blue light, and the spiderweb shimmered like spun moonlight. A tingling sensation danced on Willow's fingertips, and for a fleeting moment, she felt a connection to something far beyond the attic walls. Then, with a sputter and a pop, the moonstone shattered, showering the room in a spray of glittering dust. The spiderweb disintegrated into nothingness, and the teardrop vanished without a trace. Disappointment washed over Willow. Yet, amidst the remnants of the failed spell, a tiny, shimmering seed lay nestled on the silver platter. It pulsed with a faint inner light, unlike anything Willow had ever seen. Excitement sparked in her eyes. Perhaps this wasn't a mishap after all, but the beginning of something new, something wonderful. With renewed determination, Willow tucked the seed away, eager to see what it would sprout under the moonlight. Chapter 3: The Unexpected Sprout Night had fully descended, casting the attic in an inky darkness. The only light came from the moon, now a luminous pearl peeking through the attic window. Willow clutched the mysterious seed, its faint glow a beacon in the gloom. Eager to witness its transformation, Willow planted the seed in a small pot of soil, its origin forgotten amidst the thrill of the unknown. She placed the pot on the windowsill, bathing it in the cool moonlight. As the hours ticked by, drowsiness crept over Willow. She climbed into bed, her dreams filled with swirling moonlight and fantastical possibilities. The morning sun streamed through the window, rousing Willow from her slumber. She rushed to the attic, her heart pounding with anticipation. But where she expected to see a sprout, there was only... silence. Disappointment gnawed at Willow. Had she failed again? Was the seed just another magical mishap? Just then, a glint of movement caught her eye. A tiny tendril, no thicker than a thread, snaked its way up the side of the pot, reaching for the morning sun. Relief washed over Willow. The seed had sprouted! It might not have been the grand transformation she envisioned, but it was a start. A small, unexpected start to a magical journey. 100 likes for chapter 4

I’m an 13 year old, and I have always been gifted in English , and have always wanted to take it more seriously and write an actual short stories/book but, I’ve always got overwhelmed when it came to the planing and knowing what and where to write everything. I searched “how to write a book” and this video came up, I can officially say I’ve started my first draft for my book idea. Thank you for making this video!!!

Be careful with companies like Spine, they use AI for the services they offer, I know that the inclusion of artificial intelligence is something quite controversial and I am a little surprised that they are even sponsoring writers. It is a personal decision about whether working with artificial intelligence is ethical or not, so only investigate the company very well if you want to work with them, especially if it is with their first novel. Alyssa made a great video explaining how Spines works in case it can help someone. Ps. @ananeu I’m very happy that you have decided to self-publish, congratulations!

My main problem with plotting is the gaps between important scenes. Like sometimes your characters need a few weeks or months to integrate themselves into a new setting and befriend new people, and I just don't know how to bridge that time without a lazy timeskip. They work for the integration part, just not for the befriending part. Especially in a "non-humans in a human setting" story, I just don't know how to keep that time exciting. Dealing with multiple povs is also quite a struggle. I just don't come up with an exciting second plot, but I need it for later information and to balance out the first plot.
